Where does the time go?

Posted 17-07-2009 at 07:28 AM by DaveS

I've been very short of time and not really been able to promote this site, get more members in and give it the kick start it needs. All the people involved in the site seem really very busy unfortunately. That's because we're right at the critical point of a large 150,000 seat SharePoint deployment whilst as I've said trying to prop up the current poorly specified environment.

Anyway we have an arbitrary delivery date.... don't we all? We're not going to get all that we need to manage the service properly in for day 1. Of course the project promise a second phase...

Well what a bad week!

Posted 19-06-2009 at 11:45 PM by DaveS

Not a great week this week for our SharePoint implementation.
We have what's classed as a medium farm I think. 3 web front ends, 1 index server and two database servers, plus a load balancer thrown in.
They are woefully underspecified and we spend most of our time fire fighting service issues.
We also mix SharePoint 2003 and SharePoint 2007 on the same farm just for good measure.

After one of the web apps was crashing we did some research and turned up MSIE Spider...
